The cross country teams raced on Saturday, October 18. The varsity teams were in Cadillac, at Veterans Serving Veterans Park, fo rthe the Northern Michigan Meet of Champions, hosted by Manton. The day started out with thunder and lightning, but turned into a good day of racing. Callie Sinke of Onekama won the girl's race in 18:16.33 and Gage Hoffmann of Stanton Central Montcalm won the boy's event with a time of 15:41.2. However, teams raced by divisions, with Kalkaska running D3, which was won by Sophia Grinage of Leland in 19;02.4, and Gage Hoffmann. Overall, the teams of Traverse City St. Francis and Stanton Central Montcalm took the D3 trophies home.

The girls had an excellent day and placed 9th of 12 scoring teams, one point behind Lake City. A downpour started the race, and Aaliyah Hillier took home a medal for 10th in D3, leading the Blazers with a PR of 20:21.0. Izzy Wegener, Anna Martin, Myah Little, and Courtney Borden scored, and Paige Balliet and Payton Bonofiglio placed. Balliet, Bonofiglio, and Lily Trumble ran PRs, and Martin and Little ran season bests.

The boys placed 7th of 13 scoring teams, after losing a tie breaker to LeRoy Pine River. Coltrane Paryani ran a PR and took home a 15th place medal with a time of 17:32.9. Owen McGlone had a rough day, but still ran a solid race, scoring for Kalkaska with Seth Storm, Kellen TenHopen, and Owen Shetler. Zach Little and Ephraim Conway also placed for the team. Little and O. Shetler ran PRs. Afton Staley, Matt Cox, and Mason Doehring shook things up in the finish shoot, finishing in 100th, 101st, and 102nd places respectively, within a second of each other. Jackson Shetler finished out the season with a tough race after playing football the night before, and we appreciate four years of effort from him, two of which were years he dual sported.
