May 2, 2025

The Blazer track and field teams competed at the Lake City invitational on Friday, May 2, 2025. Mesick boys and Lake City girls placed first among the thirteen teams attending. This event had three additional coed races, the distance medley, sprint medley, and throwers 4x100 relays, which counted in scoring. Kalkaska placed 3rd, 4th, and 4th respectively. After the points were added up the girls finished 4th and the boys finished 8th. The competition was fierce, and medals were awarded to the top three athletes in individual events and the top two relays.

The single medal taken home by both teams (that's how fierce the competition was) went to Edda Grusnick in the 3200, where she finished 3rd after running it for the first time this season.

The girl's 4x800 relay team of Grusnick, Aaliyah Hillier, Anna Martin, and Kylee Jenkins placed third

the boys 4x400 team of David Crawford, Eli Smith, Jonah Weaver, and Jackson Shetler placed third

Hillier, Grusnick, Coltrane Paryani, and Owen McGlone placed 3rd in the Distance Medley Relay

Despite the fierce competition mentioned above, we did have many excellent performances and lots and lots of new season and personal records.
